About Me
I am a prolific researcher and a member of the Dawah (calling to Islam) community in Slough for over 35 years. I have lived in Slough all my life (since the late 1960s), so I am fully acquainted with its history, challenges, and the various nuances of the community.
My work has focused on helping others develop depth in their knowledge and the way to convey ideas in a powerful, convincing, and non-condescending way to help carry Islam as a solution to the various problems we see around us.
I have been involved with debates and roundtable discussions in the past with senior members of the economics fraternity in my endeavour to present the model of Islamic Economics as a genuine alternative to western capitalist economics and all its variations. Such individuals have included senior editors of well-known financial papers and also heads of London University-based business schools.
In 2013, I entered a paper at an Islamic Finance-themed international conference of academics in Hanover in Germany, where my paper won the award for the Best Paper. This was a great achievement and a clear demonstration of how powerful the arguments presented were in the eyes of the judges present.
I am now looking to broaden my audience so that my experience and insights can help others defend Islamic values and rules and help keep their faith strong in the face of all the headwinds that our community finds itself facing and will continue to face in the months and years ahead.
I have historically managed 2 other blogs; however, I have struggled to find the time to keep my posts regular and topcal, but it gives an idea of some of the areas of my interest.
